I’m currently hunkered down in a coffee shop (trying to stay warm now that winter has truly arrived) as I try to remember all of the awesome things that happened last year. There were so many milestones this year it was difficult remembering all of them and I had to limit myself to 25 highlights. In fact I almost forgot about the film crew!
Year in Review:
- completed over 60 square feet of commissions
Skyline Reflections: Portland
- hung a show at the Phipps Center Atrium Gallery
- 12 week online ArtBiz Bootcamp class
- finally got the new, replacement kiln up and working like a charm
- modified and improved the glass storage in the studio
- Saint Paul American Craft Council Show
- 2 Art Crawls, plus the Last Chance Holiday open studios
- shipped a large commission (64”x20”) to Portland, OR
- created more than 50 art panels in less than 6 months
- the Grand Hand continues to represent me
- the Plum Bottom Pottery & Gallery in Door County started carrying my work
- Art-A-Whirl at the Grain Belt Bottling House
- attended the SGAA conference in Portland, OR
- rebuilt the website to be a ‘responsive’ design
- filmed for 2 days for an upcoming TV episode Handcrafted America
- Ramsey, Mabel and Peggy helped sell my artwork again
Embrace the Moon detail
- participated in the Minnetonka, Phipps, and Bloomington Art Centers’ Holiday Shows
- had a show at the Grand Hand in September
- printed the 2016 CD calendar of new artwork
- made more than 400 snowflakes and trees, and another 300+ stars
- made another 100 large snowflakes for Artful Home’s Ornament collection
- ran out of note cards during the holidays
- hired a part-time studio assistant
- continued ‘sketching’ in watercolor, encaustic and mixed mediums
- made more snowflakes and trees
It’s truly amazing how fast time flies when you are busy and having fun. 2015 was one of the best years yet for the studio, and I am already gearing up for 2016 to be even better, so stay tuned.
Happy New Year!!!
