Gotta love 'em, even if I occasionally need earplugs - LOL!

That is so true - it is hard to work out what you really want versus what you really like. A good designer (or artist) can help by listening to how you live. Sometimes it is a simple key idea entwined in the dialogue.
"I really, really need a workable kitchen, but I need to save money and re-use my cabinets. They work just fine and with a nice new coat of paint, they should be OK for at least another 4-5 years until I can afford to replace them with better quality cabinets."
While this sounds like a good temporary solution, the reality is that you spend 2-3 times as much money doing the project twice. If you are already talking about upgrading before even starting the project, the project is doomed to fail. A good designer will pick up on that subtext and work out a solution that WILL work for the long term.
Godd luck with your kitchen remodel Lauri!

Could they be cuter? NO!

I know exactly what you mean, I never want to work from anywhere other than my home. I love my doggers and never want to leave them. Love them.

Sweet post. Very heartwarming to see them looking so patient.

I don't think I would have been able to relate to this post before starting the renovations in my house. Now it's all about getting what I want at a price that I can afford. This is not easy. Even though I have a small space the prices add up quickly.

I think the windows you create are like that. The cost depends on the pieces used. That's logical, just like the amount of my kitchen depends on whether I want cabinets or not. I do.

Great post.

Josie,
These are great goals. They seem achievable and so far you seem to be on the right track. Good luck with this.
I'm a huge goal person. I'm working my goals like someone in the middle of the Pacific would be working a lifesaver. You know how I am so that shouldn't be any surprise.
Keep up the good work.
