Anyone that knows me, knows that pink is generally not my color, but this flowering crabapple tree is special. At first it was simply a response to the view out my client’s front door, and since I had to guess about the color because it wasn’t blooming, I went with pink. Turns out the tree in their front yard was actually white.
And then it was the sweetest reaction – the client saw the sketch and almost started crying. Because her mother loved pink flowering crabapples and this window was meant to be in her memory. So the pink sketch was perfect in her eyes.
The other cool thing? It is a porthole window. While I have done many arched panels, this is my first full circle porthole window. Labor intensive for sure, considering my palette consists of rectangular pieces of glass, but wow, was it fun!
